Bad Medicine: Documentary Feature Film

Bad Medicine is a journey of truth-telling—an Indigenous story told west looking east. For centuries, hemp and cannabis were good medicine for Native peoples: a source of healing, ceremony, and community wellness. But in the early 1900s, a web of lies was spun—driven by racism, fear, and capitalism—severing generations from their plant knowledge and criminalizing their traditions.

Through the voices of elders, healers, and changemakers, this powerful short film uncovers the hidden history, the harm, and the resilience that followed. Blending breathtaking imagery of land and culture with raw, heart-spoken testimony, Bad Medicine lifts the good, the bad, and the ugly—while celebrating the unwavering commitment of those reclaiming wellness for Indigenous communities and empowering the next generation.

This is not just a film. It is a reclamation.
